October Prayer Points

October 5, 2009

in Announcements,General

As a community, it is important for us to be raising common prayer requests to God for our parish.  Please keep these requests before God in your community groups and personal devotions over the month of October.

Join us in giving thanks to God:

  • for our continued unity as a body in the demanding work of church planting.  The love and peace we have experienced are a gift from him.
  • for the safe arrival of Aiden Jack Luepke!
  • for supplying ¼ of the $25,000 in external funds we are raising to balance the 2010 budget.

The following are short and long term needs within our community:

  • that our love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that we may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ (Philippians 1:9-10).
  • that God would provide our every financial need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).  Please continue to pray for the $25,000 in external funding that we are seeking to raise for 2010.
  • that God would give each of us boldness to preach the gospel to our neighbors.  May He allow our speech to always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that we may know how to answer each person (Colossians 4:6).
  • that God would bless the covenant children of Ascension that they will learn to trust and rely upon Jesus as they are brought up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
  • that God will mobilize us, as individuals and as a community, to care for the needs of the marginalized and oppressed in our area (Galatians 2:10).
