As a community, it is important for us to be raising common prayer requests to God for our parish. Please keep these requests before God in your community groups and personal devotions over the month of September.
The following are short and long term needs within our community:
- that our community would, as beloved children, be imitators of God; and walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:1-2).
- that God would provide our every financial need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Please continue to pray for the $25,000 in external funding that we are seeking to raise for 2010.
- that God would draw un-churched and de-churched people into our fellowship as they experience the renewing power of the gospel.
- that God would bless the covenant children of Ascension that they will learn to trust and rely upon Jesus as they are brought up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4).
- that God would provide a worship leader who can lead us in hymns and spiritual songs that we might sing and make melody to the Lord with all of our hearts.
